Growing up in the Italian countryside of Reggio Emilia, food was always at the heart of everything for Marco Mercati.
His mother was an owner of five restaurants and long Sunday lunches starring her homemade lasagna defined his childhood.
When love brought him to Amsterdam at the beginning of the pandemic, cooking his mom’s recipes was what made him feel at home during the lockdowns. It wasn’t before long that these treasured family recipes became the talk of the town and The House of Catering was born.
